I’ve mentioned over on the post section of Soup for a Year that I’d like to find a way to make this effort more than just a goofy Internet stunt.
I’ve seen some very admirable efforts to turn Internet power into charitable efforts–most notably in my experience and knowledge base–a.) the work of the Nerdfighters who follow Hank and John Green in their efforts to decrease World Suck and b.) the work of the Harry Potter Alliance and Dumbledore’s Army.
But what could we do here at Soup for a Year?

Some early suggestions are to gather food donations that in some way correlate to our soup-eating efforts. Perhaps we could donate anything we gather and give it to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank? Or maybe we find a way to help out with the 2010 Souper Bowl of Caring?
Part of me wants to target our efforts in one place, to maximize whatever we get. But there might be a few admirable place to give to. And I am very willing to take any suggestions that you might have.
